Instant Tan

As a fully qualified tanning technician I still find it hard to do my own tan on my legs.

I usually use Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer for my upper body (single girls tan ;) ) however when I need to get the oul legs out for some odd reason I prefer to use instant tan.

I have been using Rimmel Sun Shimmer, light & matte for years. I find the application easy & although it ‘washes off’ I prefer using light gloves as it can leave a red tinge on your hands. It dries nice & quickly & doesn’t have any odour like the ones that need to develop.

However after using it this weekend for the first time in ages my legs are incredibly itchy & a few random hives, attractive!!! :)

Might give it one more go before I give up on it but would love to know what everybody else uses & recommends?

Use the Dove Tan moisturiser for darker skin. Use a good moisturiser concentrating on your knees and ankles and feet. Reapply in the morning or as any times as you wish and that evening, you’ll have the perfect tanned legs!

    Best of luck.

oh Lee I seriously hope you haven’t developed my allergicness to fake tan!! Its like Ive ran naked through a field of nettles these days after it! I reckon I am going to try that lavera stuff they sell in health shops as its all natural ingredients and hopefully that will work.

Not a major fan of the instant stuff but I have a neutrogena one thats quite nice and some ted baker shimmer stuff I picked up in boots for a euro that gets lobbed on if Im looking too pasty!

Btw congrats on the site — its fab!!

I’ve been using the Sally Hansen Airbrush legs recently. It covered up some blemishes on my legs so they looked fab and ….well, airbrushed :). And it washes off with soap and water not just water, so you can wear it grand in the rain.

did u shave just before you applied the sunshimmer? I find this happens if you shave and then apply the sunshimmer just after. Best to leave it an hour or so and use a good base moisturiser and leave to soak in for over an hour before applying the tan.
