Weight Watchers Weigh In – Week 1

9 Comments 30 June 2010

So it was D Day earlier this afternoon… I am happy to say I have lost 2 1/2 pounds on my first week of Weight Watchers.

So… How did my first week go? Well, there were Ups and Downs… The support I got from everyone was overwhelming, from comments on my orginial blog post, to texts, tweets & emails. Thank you again, it gave me a boost every time I looked at a packet of crisps! The downs, it was my TOTM (time of the month!) not ideal week to start, but was there ever going to be a good one!? It did nearly push me to fall off the wagon but with Brian’s help I stayed steadily on!

I also enjoyed various forms of exercise.. did I just say “enjoy” & “exercise” in the same sentence!!! I went walking, swimming (10 lengths) and I also got the getrunning app for my iPhone & completed Run 1 although I was a little bit out of my depth with it, I need to walk before I can run ;) I think if I can walk faster for a few weeks first and build up my fitness it would work a lot better. I’ll see how I get on this week. I think Muffin is also enjoying the new regime, even she was wrecko after our walk / run.

Was I hungry constantly? Not at all, I managed my points & spread my 3 meals a day & fruit snacks well. I mostly stuck to my daily point allowance.

After class today I strolled through Dunnes & picked up a few goodies to try, Nachos Cheese pack – 1 WW point, New Weight Watcher White Pitta Breads – 1 1/2 points each & Ryvita 1/2 point per cracker.

I find breakfast of either porridge with skimmed milk or an apple, banana & blueberries with a yoghurt keeps me going till lunchtime. For lunch a wrap with tuna or chicken or even prawns good & maybe a bowl of strawberries to get me through to dinner. Dinners have been stir-frys, fish & chicken mostly. I am trying new things & loving it.

This week I plan to get my cook on and make the WW Spag Bol recipe & Catherine has hooked me up with a great recipe from the UK Weight Watchers site for Beef & Guiness Casserole so I may even fit that in as well, I am guessing Brian will be happy seeing as though it includes his favourite tipple!

How is everyone else getting on? Please keep sending me your tips, recipes and suggestions, if I am going to stick to this I need to keep things varied…

Catch you next Weds for Week 2!

P.S. What better way to celebrate than a Summer Pamper Session at Carter Beauty, Blackrock! Stay tuned for review in the coming days!
