Baby Love

1 Comment 03 August 2010

The power of music often surprises me… on the way to the office this morning, I heard Baby Love by The Supremes and there is only one person it reminds me of. My Grandma Gladys. It brings me right back to the child that I was dancing around her kitchen in Terenure with her trying to teach me a bit of tap, “kick, ball change”!

My Grandma passed away at Christmas 2005 and I often think about her, as well as my other Grandparents (Oleha HaShalom – rest in peace). But this song hit me like a tonne of bricks this morning. Memories flooding back of watching episodes of Rainbow, sleepovers with Magnums to beat the band & who can forget pretending the stairs were an airplane flying over Mont Blanc.

I don’t have a photo of Grandma Gladys to hand but would like to update this post with one when I can.

Love you Grandma

Mwah

P.S. If you can read this.. I finally stopped biting my nails after you died ;)

This is lovely Lee and has me thinking about my own Gran now, who was also a fabulous lady.
