When choosing my wedding dress, I knew I wanted something classic & traditional although many people joked about my dress being pink, I always had a little idea up my sleeve…
Coloured shoes for brides at weddings are becoming quite popular. A lot of people go for blue as their something blue. I love the idea but for me, there was only one colour my shoes were going to be! PINK!
I also knew exactly what I wanted them to look like but I would have to get them specially made… This is not a cheap process but I started the ball rolling by contacting Terry De Havilland’s head office in London.
As soon as I’d decided on my Stephanie Allin Gracie Dress, I put to bed my dream of having my Terry De Havilland’s made. I was over budget and something had to give, the shoes were the first things to go off my wish list.
I started the hunt for perfect pink shoes… It’s harder than you think. I’m not very good in high heels, so ideally I wanted a wedge.
I even bought these pink Calcagni wedges in Aldo for €100. I kept them anyway and I wore them to a wedding in May.
Because, my fairy Godmother must have been looking down on me… Around this time last year, I set up an eBay alert for Terry De Havilland pink & by February the most beautiful Margaux Pink size 5 wedges were listed… If I had designed my own pair, this is exactly what they would have looked like. I was so excited and I was prepared to anything to win the auction.
I posted my maximum bid to try and get in there before anyone else, and I prayed… I think on the day of the auction I even increased my maximum again just in case! Well, I WON! And for the bargain price of £82.00…. Yahoo!
Unfortunately a little birdy let it slip to Brian about my desire to wear pink wedding shoes and because of the excitement over winning the listing on eBay, when they arrived I did show them to him. It meant I could slip them on to try them out whenever I fancied at home. I was even found tidying my Girlie Room while in my pj’s and wedding shoes, great look
Because of the Autumn wedding I got some extra grip put on to the soles. I didn’t want to slip going up the aisle or on the dance floor. The wedge heel also helped when it came to photos over grass and through Autumn leaves. They were quite comfy too, I lasted from 12pm till 12am-ish not bad!
I am just so delighted with them and felt they were a little bit of “Lee” under my dress. Here are some professional shots from Gingerpixel.ie
I would thoroughly recommend investing in shoes you will wear again. If you don’t want to go for a bright colour even a silver or gold would keep things classic. I’ve worn my TDH’s 3 times since the wedding and can’t wait to wear them again
Happy Memories.
I also love the fact they matched perfectly with my gerbera bouquet which my friend Karie captured here on instagram!
Could you spot my wedding pedicure? Here’s a sneaky peek, more on that next!
Mwah

I remember you being so excited about the ebay alert, so glad they made your day, and I can see why now, they’re beauts! I wore T de H wedges in red for my wedding day! Got them on sale in Lara boutique
@Ann Marie I remember that too
I tried Lara’s but it seems the pink is so rare, I just got lucky!

Lee they are gorgeous. It’s a fantastic idea to buy a pair of shoes you’ll wear over and over again. Makes perfect sense.
