So a little over two years ago Brown Cow Sandyford opened it’s doors. I was immediately impressed with the salon style and treatments available.
I became a regular, especially for their Fake Bake spray tan, I love the way you can have a shower & exfoliate with the Fake Bake products & then be tanned up within mins.
I was so excited when I heard of Brown Cow Carrickmines opening. I know their isn’t much distance between them but it is more on my way home from work & near home too.
The launch night was Tuesday 8th June, with many celebs including Alan Hughes, The Vard Sisters, Michelle Heaton & Lisa Cannon making an appearence on the night. The night was themed Sex and the City, Cosmo’s were flowing & the crowd were entertained by a fashion show followed by musical performance by Emy Onyesoh.
The salon itself is fantastic, the ideal location for some well deserved pampering. The pedicure booths & manicure tables make it the ideal place to grab the girlies & head for some mani & pedis with some gossip thrown in. I intend to do this very soon, stay tuned for a full review…
Brown Cow are also very proud to be the first salon in Ireland to offer Laser treatments for the same price as normal waxing. Full course of 6 sessions: Upper lip €100, Chin €150, Underarms €100, 1/2 Leg €200, Full Leg €400, Californian €250, Brazilian €350, Hollywood €400.
Fair play to Sue Kelly and her team, best of luck with the new salon and keep up the good work To make you appointment for Carrickmines the number is 01 294 5541 & for Sandyford it’s 01 207 4787.
I will keep you posted on my future visits to Brown Cow Carrickmines, have you been yet? Let us know what you thought…

When I was asked to review L’onglex many months ago I said no problem but I didn’t know the brand…
How wrong was I!? The signature pink bottle with purple lid, it had been a household staple in our bathroom cabinet, and I am guessing not just in my family home however I never knew the name.
The newly re branded L’onglex is not only in funky pretty bottles but compared to my Star Nails Nail Polish remover it ranks miles above…
Firstly. the product, even with deep reds & dark blue polishes it removes the colour effortlessly without bleeding on the skin around your nails. It is available with & without Acetone. I am currently using the one with Acetone & I will definitely repurchase.
Secondly packaging, what’s not to love, it’s either pretty and pink, or purple for the Acetone free option. They also have a clever strip down the side of the bottle so you can see how much product is left
I also love the brand that L’Onglex is building, from their funky blog which is regularly updated with top tips, new beauty products & the search for the perfect nail polishes.
L’Onglex are using social media too, very prominent on Facebook & Twitter and even include this information on their packaging which was something I hadn’t seen before.
So ladies, if you haven’t tried it, make sure you pick up a bottle or two the next time your in Dunnes, Superquinn or even Spar.

These are one of my favourite types of blog posts so I’m not sure why I have never done one before but here goes!
After meeting Emma at The Body Shop event recently I had been lusting after Chanel 505 Particuliére which is SOLD OUT in all of Dublin, trust me I rang around!
Anyway, my friend Lynda was of to Manchester for the day last Saturday & I secured a bottle in House of Fraser Manchester I am in love! It will go with all my clothes as I am very much into my cream & browns.
Not sure if I would polish my toosties with this though, I prefer a stronger, brighter colour!

Top stylists Annmarie O’Connor & Lisa Fitzpatrick will also be on hand for the latest fashion advice.
The new range is fantastic, all you need for the perfect Summer look. I was sent the following items before the night to try out.
Big & Curvy Mascara - I love it, I love the brush, it perfectly defines my lashes however I get a very chemical odour from it… it fades once the mascara dries but it is my one negative about the product. Priced at €15.40 it is very much between the luxury comestic brands and the cheaper chemist brands. I would definitely recommend trying it out
Love Gloss - Not my usual shade of choice but a lovely lip gloss, not too sticky, easy application with the heart shaped applicator. Karim Sattar suggests the “boyfriend” lip look… swipe the applicator messily over the lips, rub them together, maybe a little out of the natural lip line… nothing too precise, well priced at €13.95
Italian Baked-to-Last Eye Colour - €14.00 - a little more expensive than my Mac refills for my palette but they are fantastic. My shade is 01 Copper, a shade I that will go with everything however I am really after 03 Jade. I like wearing green eyeshadow brings out the hazel in my eyes & the two tone green is amazing. Also the price seems right as you get two shades, can be worn both wet & dry
Italian Baked-to-Last Bronze - €20.00 - by far my FAVOURITE item of the Summer range. I am using 01 Golden Glow which is the darker shade of the range. The bronzers are baked for 48 hours in an oven, no two compacts will be the same. The shimmer finish & pigmentation is just perfect for me. Karim also taught me tricks for the application, I am using my Sonia Kashuk Large Contoured/Angled Blush Brush & I find my cheek bones are being to stand out more… Thank you, thank you Karim I will be replacing my staple Benefit Hoola bronzer (€36) with this no question
After our sessions in the hot seat with Karim we were brought to have professional photos taken.
My sister, Mia, & I had some giggle posing, I don’t think we’ll be taking to the catwalk anytime soon but here’s a few photos from what was a fantastic event.
