I know I seem like a slut of South Co. Dublin beauty salons at the moment but I like trying different places and new things! And if I went to the same place all the time, I’d have nothing to blog about!!!
I had my first treatment in Brown Cow Carrickmines on Monday, I had been dying to book in since getting a glimpse at the salon on the launch night. It was my tootsies turn for pampering.

Brown Cow always promote their offerings on their Facebook pages and when I’m stuck in the office I always dream that I’m one stop away on the M50 chilling with the girls and their Bucks Fizz!
I was having the custom pedicure to get my feet ready for my holidays next week.
First my feet were soaked in lovely hot bubble water, while the lovely Mac was preparing my Bucks Fizz (how many WW points? none!, great!!!), Sarah was busy at work with removing my hard skin, pushing back cuticles, cutting & filing. I chose a French manicure as my polish and of course I had the Brown Cow signature diamonds! Well, they are a girls best friend.

Sarah was extremely knowledgeable about all Brown Cow has to offer & more. Herself & Clare were discussing their Laser hair removal offers with another client & as its been something I’ve wanted to have done, I decided to have my patch test while I was there…
Brown Cow offer laser hair removal for the same price as a course of normal waxing, it’s the best value in town. I am hoping to have the treatment soon so watch this space, need to save up as you pre pay for the course to get the deal.
The custom pedicure costs €35 and includes French polish & signature diamonds.
Please excuse the state of my feet, there may be some tan lurking around

So a little over two years ago Brown Cow Sandyford opened it’s doors. I was immediately impressed with the salon style and treatments available.
I became a regular, especially for their Fake Bake spray tan, I love the way you can have a shower & exfoliate with the Fake Bake products & then be tanned up within mins.
I was so excited when I heard of Brown Cow Carrickmines opening. I know their isn’t much distance between them but it is more on my way home from work & near home too.
The launch night was Tuesday 8th June, with many celebs including Alan Hughes, The Vard Sisters, Michelle Heaton & Lisa Cannon making an appearence on the night. The night was themed Sex and the City, Cosmo’s were flowing & the crowd were entertained by a fashion show followed by musical performance by Emy Onyesoh.

The salon itself is fantastic, the ideal location for some well deserved pampering. The pedicure booths & manicure tables make it the ideal place to grab the girlies & head for some mani & pedis with some gossip thrown in. I intend to do this very soon, stay tuned for a full review…
Brown Cow are also very proud to be the first salon in Ireland to offer Laser treatments for the same price as normal waxing. Full course of 6 sessions: Upper lip €100, Chin €150, Underarms €100, 1/2 Leg €200, Full Leg €400, Californian €250, Brazilian €350, Hollywood €400.
Fair play to Sue Kelly and her team, best of luck with the new salon and keep up the good work
To make you appointment for Carrickmines the number is 01 294 5541 & for Sandyford it’s 01 207 4787.
I will keep you posted on my future visits to Brown Cow Carrickmines, have you been yet? Let us know what you thought…

Brown Cow Launch 7th July 2009
My favourite Dublin tanning & beauty salon in Sandyford, invited me along to the launch night to celebrate the latest additions to their Brown Cow salon: Styling by Michelle Heaton & DermaDental a facial cosmetic suite. The launch was a glamous affair with mini cup cakes & champagne flowing.

Brown Cow Party
Michelle Heaton of Liberty X fame, has been living in Dublin for a couple of years now with her boyfriend Hugh Hanley. Michelle has been appointed as a “Celebrity Stylist” and “Personal Shopper” for the Brown Cow Dublin salon. Michelle does not claim to be a fitness or nutritional expert nor a quailifed stylist, she has however picked up a thing or two in her 9 years in the entertainment industry. (Can you believe its 9 years since the first Popstars on UTV/ ITV!?)
Michelle herself explains; “I am so passionate about fashion, styling, hair and makeup, keeping fit, nutrition and all things girly that I thought styling and personal shopping would be a perfect fit for me, doing something I love really appeals to me. Just thinking about all of this gets me excited and I cannot wait to start! To be able to pass on what I have learned makes this all worthwhile, seeing someone’s face light up when they try on THE dress or THE pair of jeans it such a thrill for me, not to mention the fun I just know I will have with brown cows clients. Even something as simple as the right bra can make all the difference!! Girls out there can ask my advice on all things fashion, styling, and keeping fit or maybe they just want to have a girly giggle and a gossip with me as we go through the consultation glasses of champers in hand! Either way I will do my best to make sure everyone who leaves the salon after their consultation with me has had a personal, fun and informative experience and is going away with a new outlook on their own personal style with lots of tips and tricks of the trade to take with them. If I can achieve that my job is done!”

Michelle Heaton, Sue Kelly & Dr Danielle Meagher
Having met Michelle on the night of launch & seeing how down to earth and easy to talk to I can imagine these girlie get togethers are going to be great fun. In this economic climate I did at first get a fright at the price list for Michelle’s services however upon reflection it’s probably not too bad.
Personal Styling by Michelle, consultation in the salon are priced as follows:
1 x person 1 hour = €150
2 x people 1 hour = €225
* €125 per hour thereafter
Once you have had your Personal Styling Session with Michelle, you can then opt for a Personal Shopping experience. I think this sounds fab. No matter what the budget or occassion Michelle will help you find what your looking for, whether its a capsule wardrobe or dress for that special event.
Pricing for Personal Shopping:
1 x person 1 hour = €200
2 x people 1 hour = €325
* €150 per hour thereafter
*Note* Personal Shopping is a follow on service from a Styling Consulation and cannot be booked on it’s own.

Brown Cow Staff
The DermaDental aspect of services include: Botox, Lip Enhancements, Fillers, Teeth Whitening & Photo-Rejuvention Laser. DermaDental’s Clinical Direct, Dr Danielle Meagher was also at the launch.
I believe that since the launch event bookings have been coming in thick and fast for both Styling & Dermadental.
For those of you who are yet to visit Brown Cow, I can thoroughly recomment a trip. The salon is more like walking into a Boutique Hotel then your local beauty salon, the decor is beautiful and very tastefully put together. Whether your popping in for your routine waxing, Fake Bake Spray Tan which I may be slightly addicted too, I might add it is priced at €35 for a full body (not bad for rip off Dublin
) the staff in Brown Cow are second to none, all the girls are very professional and friendly. Sue Kelly & Marie Byrne the owners, take time out and make a genuine effort to engage with all their clients. Also just to mention all Dermacolgica & Fake Bake products which are used throughout the salon are available for purchasing.

Sue Kelly & Marie Byrne
Can’t wait for my next visit to Brown Cow! I don’t have too long to wait, I’m going on Friday for another tan!
Has anyone else been? What do you think?
