Good news, I’m down -2ibs
very happy with that following Ailbhe’s 3rd birthday party on Sat. Rice Krispie cakes to beat the band!
I did numerous walks with Brian & Muffin, it’s lovely knowing you have a walk planned, I’ve actually started to look forward to my exercise now. We climbed Kiliney Hill on Sunday & I had to stop at the bottom because my legs felt like jelly much to Brian’s amusement. Muffin sounded like she was having an asthma attack on the way up the Hill too, we are looking into getting her a harness instead of attaching her lead to her collar, it seems to be uncomfy for her.
Today in class we were asked to write down a goal weight for Oct 31st. As I am 1/2 ibs away from my stone I would like to be another stone down by end of Oct. I originally had high hopes for #SeptemberStone but on reflection, I can’t see it being a realistic goal as it’s taken me over 9 weeks to get to loss
I borrowed my sisters Weight Watchers Fabulous & Filling recipe book so hope to try out some new things soon.
I think it’s nearly soup season so might try the 0 point veggie one. If anyone has recipes please share
With Jewish New Year celebrations tonight & tomorrow, WW will be hard especially as I know we are having my Mum’s amazing roast potatoes and famous STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING for dessert… uh oh! I’ll have to have a small taste!
Hope your all having a good week,

I wasn’t looking forward to WW today at all…
I knew I’d been bold on Saturday… a few mojitos & vodka & diet 7ups later, I may have even been spotted in Burger King on Baggot St somewhere around 2.30am with a Chicken Royale in my lamh! And it’s around my TOTM too.
Anyway the good news is I was down -1ibs, whoop!
I am 2.5ibs away from my stone & I really want it! I am going to push it up a gear this week. Since holidays I have found drinking my 2 litres of water a day very hard. I am going to try and get going on the water again & most importantly I am going to track EVERYTHING…. I think this really makes you realise what your eating.
I made the WW spag bol again this week, twas yummy & easy. I also sampled the Ballyfree Turkey Rashers - 3 for 1 point and to be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan. Muffin was though, jumped up to my plate & helped herself to one, the cheeky thing!
I want more recipes to try, please send any my way!

Don’t forget there is still time to enter my competition for Urban Decay Naked Palette here.

After a fantastic holiday in Spain where nothing was off limits I nearly fell off the scales this afternoon when my leader told me I had STAYED THE SAME!!!!
I am so happy & proud. On holidays I ate big meals & didn’t snack in-between. I drank a lot of water & swam (attempted doing some lengths!).

I rarely had dessert but we did go to the most amazing ice-cream place in Estepona, as you can see I was stuffing my face with my Banana Split (low calorie, not!), well, at least there was a bit of fruit in it!
When we landed back in Dublin on Thursday we headed straight to the Elephant & Castle in Temple Bar so I could get a chicken wing fix in before starting WW again on Friday
On Friday, we did a big food shop & planned the meals for the week. I had 3 walks too to try and get rid of the holiday indulgence.
This coming week I plan to try out some more recipes, I will share any good ones I find of course.
I am also planning to do Bark in the Park with Muffin, although she sprained her paw this morning, so we will have to see how she is, poor thing.
As I mentioned in this post here about a hashtag on Twitter last year #SeptemberStone. I’d really love to loose a stone in the month of Sept so I’m going to try my very best to do it but won’t get too upset if I don’t but I think the goal will keep me focused.
Hope everyone else is having a good week.

Six weeks in, I’m still drinking my water, my tracking went out the window by Week 3 but I am trying and… it’s paid off. Down another 1 1/2 ibs this week. Bringing my total weight loss to 10 1/2 ibs. I am delighted
My leader, Assumpta says that’s a dress size but to me a dress size would be a stone but I’m not really arguing!

I bought these harem pants or as Brian says my “MC Hammer / Simon Cowell” trousers well before I started WW and they were sooooo tight. I hadn’t gone near them since I started my weight loss until last Friday and they were so loose I could fit a small person in with me!
I am so delighted with my progress & kinda shocked I haven’t had a week where I go up or stay the same but I fly out to Spain on Saturday and I’m afraid as I said last week WW will influence my decisions on holiday but anything goes as I promise to get to a class asap once I’m back.
I’m also going to miss our little fur baby while on holiday but Muffin is going on her holidays to her Grannies with a big bag of treats & she had her hair cut again with Orlagh from Smoochable Pooches so I’ll leave you with a sweet little photo!

See you mid August for the next weigh in but keep going guys and I love getting all the emails, tweets & comments so keep them coming!

Me on my 21st Birthday (size 12), one of the photos that inspired me to join WW
So I got away with my over indulgence in London last week, however I was expecting the delayed reaction but luckily enough I am -1ibs again this week. Some might think -1ibs isn’t a big acheievement however I think it’s bloody brilliant! I may add it’s my TOTM too so even the bloated feeling has lifted since I was on the scales
This week I made the Beef & Guinness Casserole I mentioned in Week 1. It was delicious and I made it for my parents. The recipe says fillet steak so that’s what I bought however upon reflection, sirloin would have been just fine & saved a few €€€!
I also learnt of a restaurant in Stepaside called Stone Grill attached to The Step Inn which offers the “Meat on the Stone” cooking option which is hugely popular in Portugal & Spain so myself and Brian went to try it out. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were fantastic. I had the Taster Plate which consisted of a tuna steak, sirloin stead and a skewer of prawns with a side salad & chips (I did stuff a few in my mouth!) for €20 it was good value. I wasn’t too keen on the tuna & I think I would go for the fillet next time (€24).
My exercise was pretty non existent this week, a quick walk down the pier on Monday evening with Brian & Muffin.
This week is my last full one before my holidays, and I’d love to kick it up a notch because as soon as I get to Dublin airport, it’s game over! Well, I’m not going to do anything ridiculous, I’ll know what choices to make but put it this way I won’t be tracking my points!
How did everyone else get on this week? Any more recipes for me to try? Who knew WW would turn me into a domestic goddess!!!

I had a dilemma this week… I have been in London at a conference for work and to say WW went out the window is an understatement.
While I did try to be on my best behaviour it was incredibly difficult and not helping was the fact we were promoting Boxerchips, our fab range of crisps.
So after missing my offical WW class yesterday my dilemma this morning was to go to an alternative class for weigh in or skip it till next Weds & try undo the damage. My fear was that I would continue on my downward spiral if I mitched this week so after a quick Twitter poll I headed along to the Rochestown Lodge class this morning.
And boy was I glad I did! I am surprised and delighted to announce I have lost - 1ibs.
Now, I am under no false illusion that there may be a delayed reaction to my few days of indulgence but now that I am back on Irish soil I am going to have a good week & continue to do my best until my holibops in August.
The photo I chose to include this week was a fabulous fillet steak I had for dinner on Monday night in London, yum!
Hope everyone is having a good week.

In the word of JayZ, “can I get a woop woop!”
Today I am beaming from ear to ear as a proud owner of my first (and hopefully not last) Silver 7 from Weight Watchers!

I felt I was good with my food all week & I exercised a fair bit but for some reason I felt heavy. My personal goal this week was to loose 1ibs to make my half a stone benchmark and by golly I did it.
On Friday night as a treat I picked up pizza bases from The Artizan Pizza Company (I think) in Thomas’s in Foxrock, they are 5 points, the tomato sauce is free, points for the cheese obviously & veg were free too. Could afford to have them every night of the week but certainly fulfilled the pizza craving.
I also made the Pasta Arrabbiata as promised and it was fab. I even threw in a few prawns from M&S with the leftover for another evening meal.
I also really enjoyed the AquaFit class in Stillorgan last week, I definitely felt it the next day.
This week will be tough, I am away at a conference for work Mon - Weds & will also miss my weigh in (could be a good thing) but with my holidays fast approaching, I plan to go to a meeting on Thursday when I’m back to keep me focused.
I’ve lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks, it would be a massive achievement to try and do another 7 before my hols in August and reach a stone but I don’t want to get my hopes up as I reckon I might plateau as my body is getting used to all this healthy food. We’ll see, I can only try my best!
Thanks again for everyone’s support & suggestions, couldn’t do it without you,

Woo Hoo! I can’t believe it I have lost 3 1/2 pounds this week.
Hand on heart even though I was good on my weekdays after a heavy weekend with drink & yummy food at Cian’s Bar Mitzvah I didn’t hold out much hope when I stepped on the scales. I nearly jumped for joy, oh wait now, I kinda did
I stuck to my point allowance religiously bar Sat & Sun . I got a number of walks in with different friends, thank you Ciara, Kathryn and Shauna for your support
and Brian who sat down with me on Monday & planned our meals of the week before going to Tesco to get supplies.
I did make the WW Spag Bol last week and it was delicious, not sure about the celery, might try without it next time. Tomorrow we are planning to do the Pasta Arrabbiata so I will let you know how it turns out next week.
Going to vary my exercise this week, swimming tonight & aquafit tomorrow should help and of course I’ll be walking Muffin too.
How is everyone else doing?
I am only 1 pound away from my first “silver 7″ so I am focusing on this for the coming week to keep me motivated & to bring my total weight loss to 1/2 a stone!

I’ve never been the skinniest girl out of all my friends and I’m okay with that. I like my curves… however over the last few years I have moved from a size 14 & an occasional 16 to a prominent 16 - 18.
I <3 my food & I don’t want this to change but after finding some photos of me age 17 & 18 and seeing my figure it has prompted me to look after myself & aim to be back in a size 14. I will never be an 8-10, it wouldn’t suit me and it’s not in my genes (thanks Mummy & Daddy K!).
I’ve tried numerous diets before Aitken’s, a crazy diet for my 21st to get to a size 12 (I did it, but piled the weight back on fairly rapidly) so there was only one place to go in my eyes.
On Wednesday, I joined Weight Watchers. I found a class that is 5 mins walk (yes, I said walk & not drive!) from the office in Sandyford, I have even managed one of the other girls in the office to join with me, we motivating each other & walking at lunchtime now too
Our leader seems very nice, firm but fair I’d say but let’s see when I stand on the scales on Weds! Haha.
Before with a previous partner I was told I was too fat & to watch what I eat. I’ll never forget being on my way to meet my friend for dinner and I got a text which read, enjoy but eat something good for you.
In my current relationship, Brian loves me for who I am. He has never said anything about my weight but having approached him about my longing to loose a stone or two he has been 100% supportive. He is happy to help me in any way he can & even sat down to read my little folder of information yesterday. I know that with his support & my family & friends I can really do this.
I started on Wednesday morning before my weight in at lunchtime, Day 1 was easier than Day 2. I am finding the daily water intake (1.5 - 2 litres) easier than I thought but if your looking for me I’m probably in the loo! I believe this will settle down in a few days when my body gets used to it.
This evening, I was bit upset, I only had 7 points left after work & I knew it was going to be tough, I made beef taco but used Weight Watchers wraps for 1.5 points each & I made a point free salsa with tomatoes, chilli, limes & coriander & had a rocket & yellow pepper side salad. But my error was not checking the points of the mince before I started, 140g of uncooked mince meat is 7 points on its own. Oh well, I didn’t know… but I will for next time.
I was debating sharing this on my blog but I came to the conclusion that I would (obviously), I decided that if I do a weekly weight management post it will be even more motivation for me to be good.
I hope you guys get something out of these type of posts & if you are or have been on WW before and have any tips, receipes please, please share them.
Watch this space for Weight In - Week 1 after Wednesday lunchtime!
